Voices of Lamberti Volunteers
Working together to generate transformation
Lamberti Brasil’s team worked jointly with AdC, leveraging their professionalism to benefit the trainees.
Our colleagues shared their time and knowledge during the online courses, which were highly attended and appreciated by all beneficiaries.
We did make some questions about this experience to:
- Alannah Guerrero, Lamberti Brasil R&D Manager, played a key role in internal communications during Lamberti Transforma I, acting as a liaison between Lamberti and the participants to the project. Later she was a member of the committee responsible for evaluating the business plans competing for the seed capital.
- Daiane Lisboa, from HR, was primarily responsible for the operational aspects of the projects, including scheduling and coordinating visits within e Lamberti Brasil's plant, as well as overseeing all administrative activities.
Main Challenges
According to Alannah the first challenge was to convince people to trust us and join the project.
We launched the project in the middle of the pandemic and the women we had invited were afraid not to be able to afford it. They could not believe it was for free!
Another challenge was about the training online as most of the women weren’t familiar with computers. We overcome the issue with the support of AdC who worked with the beneficiaries helping them with online tools, finding computers free for use or with tutorials on how to use their mobile phones to attend the classes.
The Transformation
Alannah perceived a real empowerment of all participants: they started not considering themselves as entrepreneurs but rather as unemployed people trying their best to survive. They have learned and worked a lot on the use of digital tools, on the presentations of their activity as well as on the promotion and customer care. They started full of doubts and, at the end they, they got self-confident, recognized themselves as entrepreneurs.
Daiane notice that their attitudes really changed during the project. They all got every single piece of information they could and at the end of the training they were more aware of their potential, presenting themselves in a different way.
This meant that our investment was really impactful.
Impressive Commitment
Alannah was impressed by Vagner who runs a cutlery family business. He was very interested in the training program but, being it originally dedicated only to women, he asked his wife to be involved in the first phase of Lamberti Transforma. Later he was directly involved and proved to be very passionate and motivated. He was also very active in interacting and motivating other entrepreneurs, encouraging and stimulating his colleagues when they had difficulties.
For Daiane the commitment of all entrepreneurs was really impressive. They were all very participative and motivated and attended all the classes.
The Impact on Local Community
Alannah thinks that the project had more impact on her than she had on the project!
As a spokesperson for our company, she had an opportunity to talk to participants about sustainability and the way we work at Lamberti. Some participants had friends or relatives who had worked for Lamberti and now they know our Group a bit better. They know the local industry is taking care of them. She feels they trust in our work and the barriers between the company and the community have lowered.
Daiane thinks the main impact has been offering high quality instruction and training at no cost. Everywhere knowledge is extremely useful and normally it is not free! These people only needed an opportunity and providing this opportunity is a pride for us.
