Phasing Out DMF for Eco-Friendly Leather
11 - 13 September 2024, Dornbirn, Austria
From September 11-13, the 63rd Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress (GFC) will convene alongside the 4th Innovation Days, bringing together industry leaders, researchers, and innovators to generate ideas and networking on the future of fiber technologies. This year’s congress will focus on critical themes such as fiber innovations, circular solutions, recycling, sustainability, energy solutions, and emerging technologies.
Among the highlights, Stefano Fumagalli, Technical Manager at Lamberti, on Wednesday, September 11, at 4:45 pm in Hall B, will present a study titled "Phasing Out DMF for Eco-Friendly Leather: A Novel Water-Based Polyurethane Coagulation Process," introducing a pioneering water-based process for polyurethane coagulation, offering a sustainable alternative to the environmentally detrimental DMF-based methods traditionally used in leather-like material production.
